Wayne County Historical Museum

About

Who We Are The mission of the Wayne County historical Museum is to educate, promote, cultivate, collect, preserve, and interpret the heritage of Wayne County and the surrounding area and illustrate this area's role in American culture. What We Do Comprised of eight buildings on a compact site, the museum is a unique repository of Wayne County and Richmond history from early pioneer life through the industrial revolution into modern times. The Wayne County, Indiana Historical Society is a non-profit, educational corporation, recognized by the IRS. It receives a small annual grant from Wayne County, but must depend upon donations, wills and bequests, annual membership dues, admission fees and gift shop sales for its support. It could not exist but for the countless hours of volunteer help.
